Meet the 2024 Harmony Sweepstakes Competitors!

Hosted by the 2023 Pacific Northwest Champions

Outpour

Outpour is composed of eight voices from all around the greater Seattle area. As live performances became available in 2022, Outpour aimed to emphasize self-expression, interconnectedness, and collaboration with audiences and other musicians in the PNW. Our set is a diverse collection of pop, r&b, jazz, and nostalgia, and each song is arranged by one of our very own creative members. Originally formed during the pandemic, the initial focus of the group was to bring awareness to resources in their local communities by pairing information with vintage and contemporary pop songs. Today, the group continues to look for ways to collaborate and connect with their community.

Avast! Harken ta me as I tells ye about this here crew. We be The Pillage People, and we are of a mind to shanghai yer stage for a wee spot o’ piratical caterwaulin’, sure ta leave ye cheering and stomping yer feet (or pegs, as may be). We loves ta sing traditional shanties as well as parodys, or ‘piratys’ if ye will. We steal most of our songs, the ones we don’t write ourselves.

We hails from the great Land of the Port, or just Portland, if ye prefers. I can’t rightly remember how many times we’ve dropped anchor ta perform here in the past, but it’s higher than I can count. ‘Course that’s a mightly low bar, truth be told.

We’re right glad ta be here, anyway, and look forward ta a night ta remember! Yar!

Quayside Voices

Style: Contemporary

Named after their street in New Westminster (Canada), Quayside has been performing their favourite pop hits as a vocal band since 2014. As seasoned musicians, the crew applied their knowledge in theory and harmony in arranging over 100 songs for their voices alone. These arrangements have been elevated with movement and energy to captivate their audiences.

With a true love and belief that A Cappella is for everyone, they pride themselves on connecting with like-vocal bands in an effort to expand audiences and spread appreciation. Their most notable collaborations have been with Swedish vocal jazz pillars ‘The Real Group’, Toronto’s ‘Countermeasure’, Edmonton’s ‘Six Minute Warning’, and Victoria’s ‘Fifth Street’. They’ve also partnered with local schools to provide workshops, seminars, and masterclasses.

Quayside celebrates their 10th birthday this year and will be headlining a concert to kick-off the 2024 SING! Toronto Vocal Arts Festival.
